A particular Charm

Beauty, charm, and elegance have been endlessly redefined by cultures, artists — and now even algorithms.

These notions are, by nature, deeply subjective, and their definition varies from one person to another. This gallery explores those themes through the lens of femininity — bringing together AI-generated portraits of imaginary young women.

As part of this experiment, I deliberately kept to a relatively consistent visual profile, in order to better explore the subtle variations the AI could bring to a single starting silhouette. Most of these faces don’t exist, and yet each one seems to express a mood, an attitude, a distinct personality of its own.
